Melody
Acrylics
On a 52x21.5 wood panel
from a disassembled piano
I made two new transitional paintings, Melody and Harmony. I knew I wanted to paint two Whooping Cranes on similar sized panels from disassembled pianos. I love the mating dance they do- so poetic and graceful. That was my original concept.
I painted the two cranes with only rings of water as the background environment. They were nice but seemed too stark for the emotions I wanted. I wanted a feeling of plenty, joy, music and poetry. So I decided to add the environment where they live, using piping bags and palette knives for juicy texture.
This is a similar concept to the Huntsville Botanical Gardens painting of 2 birds in their flower environment. I like the lush extra of it. I want to explore this direction for a while, pushing the textures and colors. Yay for a new obsession!
These paintings can be sold separately, this listing is for 1 painting, Melody. The second painting, Harmony, is listed separately.
Shipping is included in the listed price. The art is insured for the journey and shipped with USPS. I make a box to fit each painting and pad it to keep it safe.
