This painting was based on a statue and gate I saw in Europe, outside a French palace turned into government building. The lion is, of course, known as the noble leader among animals.
This painting is available at the Kennedy Douglass Center for the Arts in Florence, AL, until August 24. After that its price will go up 30%.
