General Info

Join me in Cave Spring, GA, for a weekend of learning how to use thick acrylic paints and palette knives. The classes will be given on July 18-20 at the Hearn Academy in Rolater Park.

Classes will be $250 for the weekend, all supplies provided. CLASS PAYMENTS ARE DUE BY MAY 31. After this date the classes are $300.

I want to take you guys step by step through making a peacock painting, a sunflower painting and a magnolia painting… and time on Sunday for your own concept.

I am limiting this group to 16 participants. When you pay your $250 class fee, your spot is reserved. If you book a room at Hearn Inn through me, the ROOM PAYMENTS ARE DUE BY JULY 1.. I will refund if you are not able to come, minus a $25 fee.

Where To Stay

Seven rooms are available at the Hearn Inn, which is in the same park where the art classes are happening. The inn has two full kitchens and living rooms for us to use. No pets are allowed.

You can reserve a room at the inn through me when you pay for your classes. The payment for the room is due by July 3rd.

Once the inn is full, all other class participants will be in charge of finding their own accommodations. All participants will need to provide their own meals.

Cave Spring is about 15 minutes away from Rome, GA, where there are many more options where to stay for the weekend.

Friday July 18

3:00 PM check in available at Hearn Inn
6:00 PM optional group supper at a local restaurant
8:00-9:00 PM peacock painting (feathers)

Saturday July 19

9:00 AM -12:00 PM peacock painting (head) and sunflower painting
12:00-4:00 PM lunch and explore/relax
4:00-8:00 PM peacock painting (assemble) and magnolia painting

Sunday July 20

11:00 AM check out of Hearn Inn
2:00-5:00 PM peacock (shading and details) and play time art. *If you can’t make this class, your art will be complete enough to go home with you on Sunday morning.

Why Cave Spring?

I have been visiting Cave Spring, GA for over a decade, staying at Hearn Inn. Cave Spring is an adorable little town with a very good chocolate shop, coffee shop, antique stores, some historical buildings, and some good restaurants.

Rolater Park has the crystal clear Cave Spring that locals drink from regularly. You’ll want to bring a couple gallon jugs to fill for sure.

The cave spring feeds a charming pond and a paved swimming area. Bring your swimming gear too! The park is pet friendly and well loved by the community.

Cave Spring is about 15 minutes away from Rome, GA, where there are many restaurants and places to stay. And it is only 2 1/2 hours from my home town of Cullman, AL.
